Meta plans to introduce its AI assistant to European Union users in the coming weeks. The tool, which can answer questions and generate images, has been available in other regions since September but was delayed in Europe due to regulatory concerns. The company has been working with Ireland's Data Protection Commission to ensure compliance with EU privacy rules. Meta's AI features will be available across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger platforms. This release follows similar AI tool launches from competitors including Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Meta emphasized that European users will have access to the same AI capabilities as users in other markets.
