The Catalan Government (Generalitat) creates a site that gathers more than a thousand procedures
At a briefing of the Department of Communication, it was reported there will be a 20 percent increase of the procedures that can be made through the site. This represents a 30 percent increase of the procedures that could be made so far via the Internet; priority will be given to those considered to be the most needed in order to help out citizens and businesses with the administrative formalities.
In Catalan, Spanish and English, the site seeks to simplify and speed up such procedures. Examples of procedures that can be done online are the application for an extended family, the reduction of water cannon or the certificate of occupancy and the registration to certain educational tests in order to obtain academic qualifications. You can also access information on educational scholarships, competitions and grants.
For companies, you can apply for work notice, communication of work-related accidents implying sick leave, or alert subscription of government projects being put out to tender.
The site also has a search engine in "natural language" to find procedures which the exact name is not known, a directory by subject and also help that can be provided through guided search.
Within the section 'What to do when...' information is given about things that can be done at different times in life, like changing home address, retiring, being unemployed, steps before a son's birth or housing purchase or rental. For business, details are given on how to create a cooperative, a limited company or being self-employed.
The OVT connects the Generalitat's web, the 012 and the Citizen Care Service (Oficinas de Atención Ciudadana, OAC); this allows the status of the procedure can be accessed once it has been started online. The site also connects with State and Local procedures through joint searches with the Open Administration of Catalonia (Administración Abierta de Catalunya, AOC) and the 060 web.
There is also available a personal folder of procedures, where citizens can save all the procedures made and their state. In order to access the folder, a digital signature is needed through the certificate idCat, through the electronic ID, or any other document issued by the relevant authorities.
